Exactly, GoogleTV will never be success unless they manage to setup
some agreements with the premium content owners. It doesn't help if you
have the hardware and software if you don't have access to the content.

The content owners have to be part of this to make it work, if they
don't earn any money on the GoogleTV concept they aren't going to make
their content available in GoogleTV. I personally suspect Apple, with
its closed model, has a bigger chance to convince the content owners
than Google with its open model. Google is also going to earn a lot of
money through advertising in their GoogleTV concept and I'm sure this
worries the content owners a bit since this is a market segment they
usually control when it's related to their content.

The main advantage of GoogleTV compared to a traditional TV was that
people thought they would get access to premium content for free
through their TV. However, this doesn't work as long as the content
owners doesn't get their part of the cake. Until Google has setup there
agreements the YouTube viewer will be the big difference between a Revue
and a traditional cable/satellite box. I personally don't think people
are prepared to pay $299 for a YouTube viewer.
