Try having a look at the RandomPlay plugin (currently available with the 6.2 nightly builds). You can start a random list of songs, and it will clear out old songs as well as adding new ones when there is less than a preset number left. it also allows tracks to be added without stopping the process of clearing old songs and adding new ones when the playlist gets too short. It is a bit like the classic jukebox.
