Hi Dave, I never considered that a user needs to completely stop playback, so right now it's not possible in SqueezePad.
There is a workaround for your problem though: if you enter the Web-Interface of your server and then go to the settings, there is an option 'Power On Resume' under Player->Audio. Here you can configure, that your player will stop, when you power off the device. Powering Off is two taps in SqueezePad: Home Menu button on the bottom left and then the corresponding menu item.
