The reason Betamax died was it did nothing better than VHS, and had several disadvantages. Sonos may very well have the advantage in certain respects, but the fact is there are differences between the products that can allow both to survive. The last time I checked, Sonos was missing some capabilities that I consider critical to my listening experience. Fortunately, unlike Beta vs VHS, the media is independent from the player, so there doesn't have to be one clear winner.
