I used to use ITLU, which did work, but was slow. Then I discovered a much better tool, which was quicker and has extra features too. Try "iTunes Folder Watch" (http://albumbrowser.klarita.net/itfw.html). It identifies dead tracks to be removed, and then shows new tracks to be added to iTunes.
