To be fair to Logitech, it must be hard to please everyone - even I find that one week I have one opinion on what kind of player / message they should push, and then that changes a few weeks later. People claim the duet is a disaster and I am inclined to agree except that since I got an ipad and installed ipeng, suddenly I'm thinking that receivers hidden away are actually quite good and maybe Logitech should be pushing that more as a way to grow out of the main music room and into the rest of the house (isn't that similar to Sonos?). If they want hardware volumes, it's easier to sell an extra 2 or 3 players to existing customers rather than attract new customers. The controller was (and remains) the weakness in the Duet combo. The touch is ok but it's not going to spread beyond 1 or 2 per house unless the price drops. The VFD devices were my preference till I started with ipeng, but now I'm tempted to churn my SB2's for receivers (if only I could find them at reasonable price).
Is it me, or have Logitech meandered on strategy? Suddenly they appear to be thinning the range down - either we are about to see the lot drop off a cliff, or some new boxes and direction have to come after Christmas (maybe at CES?). -- yeomanspc ------------------------------------------------------------------------ yeomanspc's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=249 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=92232 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
