Feel feel free to monitor those or add any new information. As to your volume issue -- it definitely would appear to be an Archos-specific issue at this time. That said, there are hundreds of Android devices and I certainly haven't tested on all of them. I have tested on three different devices with volume control rockers, ranging from Android version 1.6 through 3.2, and I haven't seen the behavior you describe. If you're willing to do some debug work I could provide you an instrumented build that might shed some light on what is happening.
