Up to a point I agree with you. Over the years my wife and I have downsized (on purpose) to smaller and smaller houses. My current house is 1/4 the size of our home 25 year ago. And I have, not exactly sure, 10,000 or so CDs. Going to jewel cases saved me a TON of space. And I can still walk into a room, open a cabinet drawer and access the CDs with full inserts quickly.
