Thank you for the answer. I have the Touch and the Duet both synced and not. But this has no bearing the functioning of Spotify, at least not in my experience. And Spotify will not play on either device unless Logitech Media Server is running. So if either Squeezebox is on but not connected to my music library though LMS, I can see the Spotify app on the squeezebox. But there is no sound.
