I'm not sure what to do, buy a spare unit or not. Especially since I'm moving to a bigger house in a couple of months and might find some good use for an additional player then. We've seen that SB models got very expensive in the past once the stocks dried out, so buying a Touch right now won't be a bad investment anyway.
But it might very well be that Logitech is actually thinking of releasing a successor to the Touch. At least that's what I'm guessing, since the Logitech employee in the other thread seems to be rather open on many things, but seems to have some sort of NDA in regard to a new Touch or any other new products that may or may not be released. At this point I have to little information to know wether the new platform will be something I'm willing to go for. I don't use mysb.com, so that's easy enough for me (though I realize it's a big pain for many of the people here). I didn't do much with the plugins available either, so that it becomes more closed is not so much of an issue either. The main criteria will be if Pippin is able to create a app that can control the system in a way like we're used to now. The main issue for me seems to be: can Touch devices that were released during the SBS/LMS-era be firmware-upgraded to work in the new UE-era or not and if so, will you still be able to use iOS/Android devices as a means of controlling them, without being tied to the apps that Logitech releases themselves? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ hvb83's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=39615 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=96198 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
