I don't have the genre "60's" in use, but I do have several albums tagged "20thC" and they are being handled correctly. So its not as simple as "can't handle numbers".
One relevant point might be that mine are all multiple-tagged (e.g. "Classical;20thC") so you might try the workaround of tagging as "zzdummy;60's" and enable multiple genres with a ; separator. I'm using SS 6.2.0 on Win XP. Just a thought...
