Yea i do fault-tracing on electronics and other stuff it can be horrible
some days.

In our service dept we say that it takes the time it takes + the time
you use to nag me about it :) or "about 15 minutes 14 days thereabout"
.

it can be annoyingly hard sometimes and the root cause is in most cases
very simple and the obvious follow up question from the non technicians
(boss et al ) are always "but it was only that screw x was not put into
hole y how come it took 18 hour to find it" to that there is not even a
snide ironical comment you just stare them away....

And then the icing of the cake "why" :) like it would be humanly
possible to know why a certain transistor chose Wednesday to fail ....

Joking aside ,the techs needs help regarding communicating issues if
someone reassured users with a tweet or other message now and then
people would feel better .(the tech should focus on the problem ,some
one else should work the pr imo )
Even if there is no factual content to provide , it can actually be like
you frustratingly try to find the problem for 24 hours then it is
suddenly apparent what it is ? so even a message like" whe have not yet
found the problem is good communication"
