The Squeezebox-Series isn't listed on the Logitech-Website under Products anymore. The man on the Hotline sayed, that they have stopped the developement of these series. As a buisness-man, I would stop the servers, instead of paying years and years for them without earning any money from the selling of the Boxes. Maybe in the future Squeezebox-Users without theyre own Home-Servers can pay for the yearly Server-Service. Maybe Logitech will source that out. Theses are my assumptions.
