I know Logitech always did a lot of quality assurance of the firmware loading on the Radio before they pushed out a new firmware exactly because of this, if the device doesn't start with new firmware there is no easy way to go back. On the Touch it's different because there you can just insert a SD card or USB stick with the firmware and make it load through lower level routines, but this isn't possible with the Radio.
