what happens when you go to LMS running on your vortexbox and look at
the scanning progress (or results).  That is, when you go in a
webbrowser on a computer in your network to:

http://192.168.1.18:9000/

(except replace the 192.168.1.18 with the IP address of the vortexbox).

Once there, click on SETTINGS, lower right side, then click on the
INFORMATION tab. This will show you the current scanning process or the
results of last scan.  And under the BASIC SETTINGS tab you can initiate
a "clear and rescan" to start a scan over from scratch.
