I think I'm being mis-quoted slightly... I see the way Wandboard and PI work with all code on a removable card very useful for a project such as this - it means that its impossible to brick the device, if all else fails you can take the card out, rewrite it and get back to a fresh system. This was the reason I was arguing for the OS to go on an SD/microSD card. This is what we have with the wandboard. [In contrast the internal fixed flash of the SBT means you have a much more complex rescue proceedure if you do mess it up - something I believe we have avoided!] As for how we distribute them and whether its a download which people then flash themselves I think we need to look at. The Raspberry PI has been reasonably sucessful getting to over 1m units with this approach though... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Triode's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97881 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
