The point is that a display is not enough the device itself could be
busted and the power supply ok , or the software could be bricked no
display no network connection no ssh no ligth out the toslink ? So to
separate power failure from device failure  a power led could be usefull
.

But a very dim small gren led on the backside would do that nicely .

Maybe just maybe also an Ethernet connector with tiny LEDs to indicate
that something happens when conecting a cable . But some Ethernet
conector LEDs are very bright I had to paint the ones on my Netgear
Ethernet switch with black nail polish otherwise it looks like fireflies
behind the hifi :/ only consider this if it can be done with dim LEDs .
