What type of music-files are you playing (FLAC, mp3) ? What quality?

If you are streaming FLAC the first thing I'd try is to switch over to
mp3 (even if its just a test), just to check if you are having bandwidth
problems.
Frequent dropout typically mean, that your network is not fast enough.
Did you already check how many other wireless networks are in your area
(and if they share the same channel ID).

Did you try to watch the buffer numbers that are shown on the main
screen of SqueezePlayer. How do they behave - which one is going up/down
in what pattern?
The first number is the decoder buffer (how many bytes are ready to be
played), the second one is the download cache.

If your network is not fast enough you will see the first number go up
(all data bytes go directly to the decoder and are ready to be played).
When the playback buffer is filled, playback begins to play. At the same
time (provided the data arrives fast enough), the download buffer
(second number) should fill up as well.
