As a control point the URL http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/listen/r4.asx does not play for me on LMS or VLC but the mms url will play. I think the BBC have done something weird with their WMA playlist. This messing with UK/non-UK WMA URLs happens about once a year although I don't remember the asx URLs being broken before.
