Many thanks for the reply! I am using OSX 10.4.11, but I just ordered DVDs of 10.5.6, which I should get in a week. 10.5 is the highest that my iBook G4 can possibly go, so I will have reached the limit if I do that install. At that point I hope I can install 7.7.3, and I hope that stops the pain. Would you advise me to try to fix my current installation, 10.4.11, or to try the upgrade to 10.5.6? (The upgrade will of course take some time for me to install, so I do not want to go through that if I will end up in the same spot and have wasted my time.) I use this iBook only for logitech media server, nothing else. thanks again! jeff
