Does the Daphile web page work after the "music stop" problem? Does it
respond in any way (iPeng continues to show the progress even if it does
not get connection to server, so that's not a sign of life ;-)?
Do you have anything special on screen?
What version are you using? i486 or x86_64? The latest? 
What is the laptop model? CPU?
Was the music file such that it needed to be transcoded? Sample rate
supported by audio device?
Did you really have reinstall? Didn't it boot otherwise?

Lots of questions...I think it might be better if you send all the
