Some more info would be helpful. Are you listening to a local LMS or
mysqueezebox.com? If LMS, is your server wired to the router, or is it
also on wifi? Is it cutting out on local music files, streaming
services, or both? Is there a possibility of wifi interference, be it
from other wifi networks on the same or nearby channels, or cordless
phones or microwave ovens? What kind of signal strength are you
getting?

Two other things to try:
1) as a test, try wiring your SB to the router and see if the dropouts
continue. Wiring the SB may not be a practical long term solution, but
it's worth a try to see if it's wifi or something else.

2) If the test confirms that it's wifi (ie, plays fine when wired but
not on wireless) use a tool such as NetStumbler or Inssider to check for
competing wifi networks. Pick a channel that is on a non-overlapping
channel from any strong signals that you find. Good picks are 1, 6, or
11, because they don't overlap with each other. So, for example, if you
have a neighbor with a strong signal on channel 3, choose channel 8 or
higher to avoid it. And there's no reason to avoid channel 11 -- it's
perfectly fine.
