Yes, that's clear and exactly why it's so dangerous. Yes, a constant backup is the only way to ensure that you don't lose a day or a week or a month's updates, but I consider that to be a very small amount of work to duplicate considering the potential danger. You can always backup more often if you consider it too risky.
