Has anyone experimented with QoS with an SB2?
QoS might help during times when something else was going on (like
VoIP or BitTorrent). However, it will only matter if the router is
between the server and the squeezebox, which would not be the normal
SOHO setup.
Well, while my setup is definitely unique with multiple routers (it's
what I do for a living, I have to play!), there are ways to do QoS
without a router in the middle. It's benefit may be only in certain
situations, but take a look at 802.1p tagging. You can use that along
with proper equipment to prioritize traffic on a Layer 2 Ethernet
network.

I try to keep my lab and home stuff separate, so I can power-cycle and
travel with the lab stuff without disrupting music, mail, and web :)
I highly doubt that anything in the SOHO space implements that standard
(or does it in a standard-compliant fashion) anyway. Sometime we'll have
to trade war-stories about NetGear's DHCPd implementation...
