There recently was an "unofficial" release of Logitech Media Server 7.8 (nee SlimServer). It works well and you can find it here:

People are using Raspberry Pi, Wandboard Dual, Android mini-PC, and whatever Squeezebox equipment can be found on eBay. If you go with Wandboard, you may be able to eventually add the CSOS DAC daughter board.
