I am really interested in how this project is going and how close you are to a unit that can be bought ready assembled ie a finished unit.
Just recently my father passed, and he had a sonos system (play3 & bridge) that I decided to try out. Well it sounded okish, but I ran into the problem of its file memory. Truth is I love my squeezebox system, and would never trust Logitech again because of what they so stupidly did to what was and still is a truly fantastic system. They had the whole world of music streaming in their hands, and threw it all away. There is nothing that comes even close today to what they had back then. Squeezebox: Classic/SB3, Duet,(Controller x2) Boom x3, Radio and Touch x3 Server: Noah Blk Mini-ITX Case, Intel D945GCLF2 Atom 330 Motherboard, 2 GB 667 RAM, X2 Western Digital Scorpio Blue 500GB 2.5" H/D's Internal. Ext Backup #1: DAS 200 with X2 Western Digital Caviar Green 1TB H/D's Raided. OS: WHS. Ext Backup #2: External USB Hardrive using GoodSync (Backup program). Ripper: dBpoweramp.
