I've been through the Slim MP3 tag reading code. It seems to be general enough to read all known tags. It contains a list of tags it's looking for. If they missed some for some reason, it wouldn't be hard to add those.
I haven't checked how it handles the extensible tags yet. That would be a second stage. First I think we should make better use of what it does do (i.e. composer, orchestra, conductor, principal players, etc). At the next level up, the database is only interested in a select few and ignores the others. But I assume someone with more knowledge than I about the database level could implement the changes needed there. There is a general mechanism to map the MP3 tags to "standard" names for the higher levels of the slim code. I assume something similar exists in the parallel universes of OGG, FLAC, etc. But I don't know that for a fact. -- Michaelwagner ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Michaelwagner's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=428 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=17877 _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
