Using XP on any system that isn't fully isolated from outside
interference (e.g., internet, removable storage media) is HORRIBLE
security practice. Basically, there are very few scenarios where
continued use of XP is justified. Essentially, it's justified for
companies which buy Microsoft's expensive custom support plan or for
medical or military computers with tightly regulated data access.

Chances are there's already malware on your system. I strongly advise
you run OFFLINE scans (where the scanner boots from CD or a USB stick)
several times a week.
