I'd still want to know what is making the unused pi do work. ..what is 'speaking' to it? Are they just squeezelite devices? if lms isn't being called by them what is?
Did you ever look at the cpu load on the pis? If pulling the plug works as a solution all cool but seems odd you need to do that.
