Chromecast Audio announced today seems exciting, especially if they can pull off multiroom audio in the future. My original squeezebox devices are dying slowly, and an attempt to replace one with an Android TV box with OrangeSqueeze did not go to well. No elegant Rasberry Pi solutions out there that are aesthetically pleasing and cheap.
I guess it would take some major reprogramming of the squeezebox server to recognize the chromecast audio player, or an app. I am hesitant to let the chromecast audio pull from my SQBX server, as I have no idea what google collects in terms of data. Not even sure if sending an audio signal to the cc audio is the same in terms of privacy.
