If your digital out also only sends one channel then your player is toast and the likelihood of this happening is probably a million to one. Sure you actually tried it? Digital Coax is ONE single RCA cable using the orange RCA outs/inputs.
Try swapping L/R analog RCA's into amp? Problem now switch channels?
