I have a couple of Chromecast Audio dongles that I like for casting
Google Music. I had been following RP developments, and an RP3 with an
IQAudio DAC and piCorePlayer became an irresistible experiment.

I really like the results. To my ears, the sound is better than my old
Logitech players. The hardware & software combination handles any file
format in my library. I used the translucent "smoked grey" case that
IQAudio sell, which I find aesthetically very pleasing.

The pieces cost about the same as four Chromecast Audio dongles, but
about half what what I paid for my Squeezebox Touch. For the audio
quality and seamless integration with SBS, that still feels like a
bargain.
