I rip to ALAC instead of FLAC. Itunes will automatically transcode the ALAC files down to lossy AAC files during syncing. It will give you the option to choose the bitrate and do all the work. The nice thing is you only need one library for your i-devices and Squeezeboxes since LMS handles ALAC just fine. Many other devices now work with ALAC as well so it is not nearly as divisive a format as it used to be.
