No, I set it up for him before I sent it over, checked both wired and wireless as working. Without a lan connection it should boot into the Home screen as I described. I sent two usb sticks, one with Openpeak and the other with the Internal OS so it should be recoverable. The Joggler I sent was a replacement item I had sorced and was hardly used (and I never did) so the problems are not insurmountable.
