I finally managed to find a workaround. I created a file called ChooseMusicSource.lua (which didn't get created when Squeezeplay was installed, despite me installing/uninstalling it 3-4 times). That file directs Squeezeplay to the IP address of my LMS server. It seems that Squeezeplay maybe didn't detect my LMS server on the network when it was installed.
