Mr Peel had an advantage over most in that aspiring artists would send him their albums etc FOC. He was our arbiter of good taste and a necessary filter of the mundane. Spotify doesnt fulfil this role. I do listen to Spotify but only via LastMix / DSTM. I am listening now. I listened to an album (local files) and as its bedtime I am just letting Spotify play me something similar before I switch off for the night.
