Yes, that's my understanding too. In fact, the various literature I've
read on MIMO would seem to suggest that existing b/g devices would even
experience an _increase_ in performance with a MIMO router. If I've got
it right, it'd seem that the increased signal strength and range of the
MIMO router is kind of like "moving the b/g device nearer to the router"
(even though the devices remain in the same location), hence the
increase in performance.

I've been doing some digging on this, and I never realised until
recently just how much the performance of b/g devices drops even over
short distances. It seems that the performance drop is almost
exponential as distance between b/g NIC and b/g router/access point
increases (!)

This device from Belkin
(http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=178491)
would appear to work on Cable. I am on NTL as well and am also keen for
a higher throughput network.

My understanding is that with a MIMO network b and g devices can connect
with no loss of speed for the other devices connecting at higher speeds.
Is this correct as this would be critical to it being useful for me.
