Id say better than a Boom if your Active Speakers are of sufficient quality. Certainly something like Audioengine A2 would be better.
Pandora. I use local FLACs, Spotify & BBC iPlayer. All are fine via a Chromecast (now I know how to set it up for gapless) I cant see why Pandora would or could be any different.
