If disabling the firewall or antimalware software doesn't help, next I'd look at those. It's a bit of a reach since the Squeezebox get an IP address from the router, but still worth investigating. Just as an experiment, bring the Squeezebox to the same room as the router and use just the ethernet cable between the two. You'll see on the display if it connects to the server. Those poweline adapters are great when they work, but sometimes they just don't.
