Another thought ... you can have a Raspberry Pi and make it "neater" by putting it in a tidy box and have a few buttons on it as presets to launch favourites and even a small screen to show you what is playing (that blanks and hopefully dims). Many of the examples show connection to remote speakers but you will see a few with speakers attached.
