Sounds like a good use for an alarm clock. It goes off, you wake-up
and plug in the server, which detects time for the SqueezeBox to
come on.

I never turn mine off, I figure that the stress
on starting and stopping exceeds any savings in power.
But this quickly gets theological....
Many recent bios settings allow you to set a standard on time every day in the
power management settings. You can also use the Execute plugin to call a
shutdown script or just have the pc shut down at some set time well after any
'sleep' setting. This way, you could save power for 6 hours, and still
have pc
alive plenty of time ahead of the slimserver alarm
