Hi

I am not sure is this is the best place to start my topic.

A little history, I am using macOS from a long time (headless Mac mini)
as my main music source since at least 12 years, always with I tunes and
almost always in conjunction with audirvana, the system work perfectly
without big troubles for several years.
Around 6-7 years ago I start to experiment with RPI w/Picore and 7”
touchscreen, mainly because I have kids and I don’t want give them
access to mobiles or tablet (only way to put Mac mini to play some
music). The same RPI can be used as endpoint of the mini trough AirPlay.

The RPI reads the backup of the Mac mini music files in a Synology NAS,
which also ran LMS (pinkdot version).

With the years I also added some Sonos speaker, and a marantz AV
receiver in different rooms.

Since then I had been using playing music around the house in three
different way according to the circumstances (Sonos app, LMS and RPI, or
macOS with airfoil).

Finally this year, after read that I can not install newer versions of
LMS in my NAS, I decided to buy a new RPI 4 to run LMS exclusively, and
I start to looking the way to make everything most compatible. Then I
gave a try to airplay bridge...after a couple of days and with some help
is this forum (Phillipe mainly....thanks a lot!!) I was able to have
everything up and running, finally I can LMS ecosystem in my entire
house!!!

Since then I add a argon case for the RPI 4 and added 3 new RPI3 with
3.5” touch screeen next to my airplay devices (Sonos an Marantz AV),
these 3 devices run picore 7.0 with LMS and Squeezelite and Shairport
disable, and are used as touch control of an Airplay devices (standalone
or in sync with other player).

Finally today I am using mainly LMS ecosystem...Sonos app was forget!
macOS is still working and Tim’s the main source in my main audio
equipment (Naim gear w/10” Tannoy speakers).

All previous only to says thanks to everyone who makes these possible!!!
And also for a new question, regarding power management, in my RPIs that
work as player or touch screen control I added a switch to turn on or
off as I wish/need....but the RPI4 running LMS is on 24x7...¿is it
possible to improve these? Something like sleep the hardware to reduce
power consumption, as this is the server and is in a central rack I
don’t want turn on and off every time someone want to play music...but
in these days I think I always good to save some energy, even if is it a
little.
Any idea, comment or suggestion is welcome!

Thanks,
Cristóbal

Ps: sorry for my English!!
