My main LMS runs on a Pi4 that I leave running 24/7. In the domestic scheme, I don't think it's a massive power usage. I also have two portable setups with Pi3 with music files on USB hard drives, and I fitted an on-off switch to these that uses the Pimoroni ONOFF SHIM, which powers down the Pi safely.
