Back to the original topic.
In the attached picture I’m playing Sunday morning Jazz which I’m
controlling with Material on my iPhone.

The small screen to left of centre speaker is an o2 Joggler. It’s really
a now playing screen but here I have it also displayed on TV.

How? There are 2 players. A Pi with Khadas Tone Board that’s doing the
playing via my AVR in 2.0 direct mode.
IPeng on my iPhone is synced with this player and sending the output via
AirPlay to the TV with sound off.

Why not just use Airplay? The sound is awful compared to the Pi + Khadas
which is awesome.

Why not use Phillipe’s Airplay bridge? I could but the Airplay
implementation on the LG TV doesn’t show time bar and I rather like
that.
