I still Think that attaching a screen in order to debug your issue would be the first and most simple step to follow. It will give you a lot of information, and you would know immediately whether pCP is running correctly or not and will print the correct IP address on the screen. You have already used a lot of time and are getting nowhere, adding a screen would really help you in the process.
