I've not seen this issue. With the device connected to my network I then
go into the setup for LAN and click the "Add" button which then brings
up a list of all attached devices within my DHCP range. I can then
select the device I want to reserve an IP address for and it brings up a
dialog with the MAC address and all I have to do is override the IP
address to what I want, save it and in Netgear land the router will
reboot. Since my ASUS is 350 miles away I can't verify exactly how this
process happens, but it's similar.
