I had the same problem upon switching to the Jan 2 nightly. I'll download the Jan 3 nightly tonight as I believe it is supposed to fix this problem.

(It's kind of a shame that the 6.2.2 branch "regressed" in this way. I thought the idea was to have it pick up tested bug fixes only, with new features and major changes going into 6.5.)

In any event, I downloaded it to see if a particular problem I saw with 6.2.1 (the latest release version) was still there.

The problem: if you have a genre with all albums in the genre having "Various Artists" (and assuming you have the "Various Artists" setting turned on), then when you go to browse genres and choose that genre you don't see anything on the page other than an artist/album count. That is, you don't see the "Various Artists" link, so you're kind of at a dead end at that point.

Seems like an edge case that may not have been tested -- for the most part people are going to have many "standard" albums in a genre and then a few compilations. But in my case I created a new genre called "Northern Soul" to cover a number of compilation albums of that type, and I was surprised to find that I couldn't browse the genre to find and then listen to any of them. So I downloaded the latest 6.2.2 nightly before filing a bug report -- but then got hit with the messed up tag problem.

So this is a heads up on a possible bug with a bit more testing tonight after I download the Jan 3 nightly.
