A big storage system :) There are various ways to do this. How deep are your pockets? The issue of backing everything up also comes into the equation. You could get 8x500Gb drives and configure them in a RAID0 array giving you 4TB. But if you lose one drive, you've lost all your music. Not ideal. You could therefore get 16x500GB drives and either mirror them (RAID1) or build two separate 4TB arrays and backup one to the other. Personally, I'd get 10x500GB drives and configure them in RAID6 - this gives you redundancy and means you can survive the failure of two disks at once. > - Presumably Slimserver and the SB3 can only reference one NAS? slimserver can only reference one music library, but that music library doesn't have to be all on one NAS, e.g. you can symlink multiple storage locations under one directory to give you a single library accessible by slimserver. > - How easy is it to have the music accessible to different SB3's so > that my wife can play her stuff in the lounge and I can listen to mine > in my study at the same time? Very easy. It just "works". Put all your music and swmbo's in your common library and you can each point your SBs at the same library and play what you like.
