My covers are actually named .jpg . Sorry, I didn't realize until I converted one to a 100x100px image for testing. I'm not sure why SS cached an .mp3 file as your cover, and didn't see your cover.jpg/.jpeg. It does look in tags first, and seems likely to me that since your covers show up fine in itunes- itunes has something to do w/ it.
