Sounds like I should give it a shot. I had trouble creating the DBs the other day, so I will see if I am doing something wrong. I'll let you know my experiences.
Thanks for the feedback...

I'm currently running 6000 flacs on a ClarkConnect 1.3Ghz Athlon Server with 512Mb RAM. There are no latency issues for that I can see - searches included. The reason I switch was to allow me to view and update the Slimserver database while slimserver is running. If you look at Slimserver's roadmap you will find that MySQL is the way Slimserver is going for the future. Why not early adopt? It is pretty painless (see the wiki) and you can go back very easily if you don't like it. One final note of caution - I have seen a couple of posts relating to issues running on MySQL 5. Stick with 4.1 for now. -- Browny ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Browny's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2295 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=20281 _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss ---------------------------- This message has been certified virus-free by MailWise Filter - The real-time, intelligent, e-mail firewall used to scan inbound and outbound messages for SPAM, Viruses and Content.
